Dr. Frugé has been in practice for over 34 years and has been involved in many community oriented organizations as well as being past president of the Texas Optometric Association.
He is a member of the College of Vision Development, Optometric Extension program and the American Optometric Association. His areas of special interests are the fields of pediatric vision and contact lenses. Dr. Frugé is a certified optometric glaucoma specialist.
Dr. Frugé's interest in pediatric vision comes from his experience with his own children, three of which needed vision therapy. Two of the three children had visually related learning disabilities. One could not read until the 3rd grade. The other had spelling problems that slowed her progress in school. Both children responded to vision therapy and are now college graduates. The third had a binocular vision problem, a cross-eye, it was corrected and normal functional vision restored.
His office has state of the art equipment such as the latest optical imaging technology, GDxVCC, the most advanced glaucoma detection and tracking device available. The standard pressure check is ineffective for detection glaucoma in a high percentage of patients. The results of the GDX include a map of your retinal nerve fiberlayer, a delicate layer in your optic nerve that is the sight of glaucoma damage.
We are a full scope optometric practice dedicated to providing the highest quality vision care to children and adults in a friendly, comfortable, and professional atmosphere. With a highly trained staff we go beyond 20/20.
